Update 8-4-06
Yesterday I wrote a long message, only to have it lost somewhere in cyberspace! After 7 months totally on my own and at the mercy of having to eat out in restaurants most of that time, I am FINALLY back in my own kitchen. My mother is now moved into my house and settling in, and we are beginning to get a routine going. We both survived the move on June 30th and also her 90th birthday party on July 29th. I can think of no other distractions or reasons to procrastinate. I am SO ready to be back on plan. It is incredible how bad commercially prepared foods make you feel, even when you try to make good choices!! I am fully convinced that the preservatives, salts, sugars, fats, and other additives are literally killing us. I am also totally convinced that eating home-prepared fresh fruits, veggies, and very lean meats is the way to a longer, healthier life! Today, I cooked for the week, as I used to do before Mother's illness, and it felt so good to be back in control. I hope this BLOG will be helpful to you. There are many folders in here, and each one has lots of really helpful information, so I hope you will be able to find it all. Be sure to check out each and every month. There are tons of wonderful recipes in here that I've gotten from other SWBM people or that I've developed myself. Today, I plan to add a re-make of an old family favorite, Caraway Cabbage. I prepared it today SWBM-style, and it IS good. I hope you'll try it, too. Remember if you want me to respond to your comments, you have to send the message to my emaxson2@comcast.net address.
