My Weight-loss Adventure

This Blog is a chronicle of the weight-loss adventure I began on June 12, 2003 with Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body Makeover program, which is available at www.provida.com. It contains my story and the tools I have used to assure success along the way.

2009 Re-start Week 3

I started to say "Good Morning" and then realized it was already after noon. My, the time flies, doesn't it? This has been one of those interesting weeks where life sometimes gets in the way of the "best laid plans"!! I did very well all week and was able to stay POP (perfectly on plan) until Wednesday. I had my breakfast, took my car for its service and annual inspection, and took my morning snack with me, thinking I'd be home before lunch. WRONG. It took longer for the car than expected, which threw my entire feeding schedule off, and I ended up having to eat lunch out (unprepared). So, I took a grilled chicken breast with grilled veggies (squash, onions and zucchini) and rice, along with a small lettuce & tomato salad, with salsa or picante for dressing. They did follow my instructions to go light on the oil on the veggies, but I could really taste the salt in everything. I drank extra water that day, but knew it would probably cause me to gain this week. In the past, when I have had to eat a meal off plan like that and didn't add the extra water, I would gain 3-5 lbs., but this week I did gain 1 lb. However, that was better than I had done in months past. I also lost 5.25 inches all over for a total of 30 inches lost now in 3 weeks. So, although I gained via the scale, I am not unhappy with the results. These are the things I did:
  • drank extra water
  • did not miss any snacks or meals
  • kept to the time schedule
  • stayed true to the plan all the other meals of the week
I hope you have a very productive and losing week, too!!!
