I read an article not too long ago (wish I had the reference for it), that talked about the fact that as we lose weight, especially larger amounts, sometimes it takes our bodies 5-6 weeks to play catch-up. Apparently, the fat cells have to adjust to the new smaller size, and that's about how long it takes. During that time, we may not lose weight, but we do usually lose inches. Of course, that's about the time we get frustrated and disgusted because we are "doing all the right things and we're not losing lbs." That's so true, and I guess that's why I am determined to keep on doing what I'm doing, because the initial reason for losing weight was NOT to lose the weight, but to improve my health, and no matter whether I lose these last 30 lbs. or not, I am definitely continuing, because of the drastic health improvements I've seen....and....I want them to continue.
