On travel: Here's my philosophy on travel.....it's a challenge to see how good I can be in the real world. After all, that is what the SWBM program is all about...learning how to live in a smaller body in the real world full of temptations. Will your hotel room have a fridge/microwave? If so, then, take as much of your food with you as you can....grilled chicken, pumpkin bread (great breakfast), salad dressing, splenda, cinnamon (for plain oatmeal), apples, bananas, and even the protein bars. Then, whatever you eat, remember to take no more than about 4 bites of any part of a meal. Try to choose grilled chicken and lettuce for two meals (you'll have your dressing with you). I bought non-spill bottles in 8 oz., 2 oz. and 1 oz. sizes to use for my dressings. I took 2 of the 8 oz. ones on an 8-day trip, and I came home with dressing left. I used the smaller ones to fill each morning before I left to carry in my purse. You can always order lettuce/tomato and occasionally a plain baked potato, and the Westin will probably have fresh fruit available. Just remember....1/2 cup is a serving....about the size of a tennis ball. Don't focus on the food. Focus on visiting with your friends. Have fun, but do it AWAY from the food. Drink bottled water all day long. Do not let yourself get dehydrated. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that you can do this, enjoy the conference, and LOSE weight while you're gone. I have never taken a trip yet, while on this program, where I did not lose weight. It's fun to be able to challenge yourself. Yes, I tasted off plan foods on trips, but I ate only a few bites. When you get to Living Lean, that's the way you'll eat anyway, so why not test yourself to see if you can do it NOW!!!!
