My Weight-loss Adventure

This Blog is a chronicle of the weight-loss adventure I began on June 12, 2003 with Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body Makeover program, which is available at www.provida.com. It contains my story and the tools I have used to assure success along the way.

The good stuff or junk foods?

(First published 2005) You may use frozen fruit, as long as the label has nothing but the fruit listed. If it contains sugars of any kind or preservatives, you may not have it. As for the ground turkey, it must say either ground turkey breast or ground white meat and it should be only 1-3% fat. The regular ground turkey is 7% and that is not allowed. It also contains dark meat, which we cannot have. No dairy products, including yogurt are allowed...again they contain preservatives. This is basically an eating plan that requires you to get off the preservatives and the processed foods. My food bill actually went DOWN, and I eat VERY well!!! But, I am no longer eating out full meals, I'm not buying junk foods, and I'm not snacking at McDonald's or Burger King. When you look at the total cost of all the foods and snacks you HAVE been eating, you may be amazed at how it adds up. Just the cost of a cold drink can run from 50-75 cents a can, and with that, you could have bought something fresh and really good for you. Take a total of everything you eat in a day....you'll be amazed at how expensive it really is!!!
