My Weight-loss Adventure

This Blog is a chronicle of the weight-loss adventure I began on June 12, 2003 with Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body Makeover program, which is available at www.provida.com. It contains my story and the tools I have used to assure success along the way.

Update 11-12-07

Good morning!!

Sorry I didn't get to post last week. I was out of town on a genealogy research trip. This morning I weighed and measured. Hadn't lost any weight (wasn't expecting to, since I had to eat off-plan foods on the trip), but I did lose another 5.5 inches all over. I cannot stress enough to those of you who are just starting out on your weight loss program, that the scale is not always the whole story, as you can see from my numbers this week. Be SURE you measure each week, too, because THAT is where the real story is!!

If you are visiting my BLOG for the first time, be sure you read the article on how to navigate this BLOG. My experience has been that this is a clumsy, very unsophisticated instrument, but it still gets the point across and allows me to share information with those who are interested.

I will not be able to report next Monday either, as I will be separated from my computer, and my goal for Thanksgiving week is just to stay even. Losing would be great, but NOT gaining while enjoying the fall feast would be even better!!! Remember......small portions, and eat lightly (don't skip any meals or snacks) by having a couple of salads the rest of the day, and maybe just some protein at snack time. You can do it!!! See you on the 26th!!

Oh, and this afternoon, my friend Beth came by to be weighed and mesaured. She was sure she had gained, since she had not been totally on plan, but I could tell by looking at her baggy clothes (which had fit her 4 weeks ago!) that something was missing. That something missing was a total of 24.25 inches in 4 weeks and 9.9 lbs. She couldn't believe her ears when I kept measuring and she was hearing me say, "another loss"!! I am SO proud of her!!
